Peltor 97451 Tactical Sport Hearing Protector Buyer Reviews
These types of hearing protectors tend to be excellent gadgets for firing. They provide a stereo sound-view from the world close to you while keeping any kind of loud sounds from impacting you. They are very comfortable (though I have yet to use them for extended stretchs it looks like they could be fine over an afternoon). They tend to be 1000% better than my previous hearing protectors, which were not electronic (We wouldn’t go back).
The just thing which is annoying is that they advertise an “Audio jack” regarding “cell phones, MP3 gamers or canine trackers” but it’s a completely non-standard (and also mono, not stereo system) port around the device, and the audio cable is not included. The sound cable is simple (costing less than $0. 50 to produce, is my own guess) and I came across it promoting from $22 to $40. What a crock. I’ll need to check from Radio Shack to find out if I can get a compatible cable for any reasonable cost.
For shooting I can’t actually imagine applying this connected to an MP3 player when i usually wish to know what’s going on around myself. However, I can think of other uses with this muff where I might want music too (mowing and trimming the yard, using a leaf motorized inflator, etc.), but not really badly enough to pay for another $22.
Peltor: Include a cable next version, or in addition to this use a standard 3. 5mm little stereo plug and supply or sell an adapter for the “old” two-prong plug! Please visit here for more detail
